We are looking for enthusiastic volunteer educators who would like to gain experience in the dynamic extension education field. Our holiday program gives children the opportunity to explore the world of animal care and welfare in an exciting and supportive environment. The Holiday Program Volunteer will play an important role in providing a fun and fulfilling holiday program for all involved. This role will involve supporting and supervising children and facilitating games and various activities for children aged between 5-14 years old.

Role duties and responsibilities
The Holiday Program volunteer will be responsible for the following activities:
Provide support and supervision to children within the holiday program; including welcoming children, engaging children in various activities throughout the day and participating in the end of the day farewells
Facilitate holiday program activities; this may include baking dog treats, creating animal toys for cats, dogs and rabbits
Maintain program delivery areas in a neat and tidy manner, in line with staff instructions and WHS standards; including set and pack down of activities / equipment, maintaining hygiene standards in the kitchen / food preparation area
Other activities as agreed, to support the holiday program operations
Skills and experience required
To be successful in this role, the volunteer will possess the following necessary skills and attributes:
Background / experience in working with children under 12 years of age
Current Working with Children Check or equivalent
Great communication skills – ability to effectively interact and engage with children in the program environment
Good facilitation skills – ability to effectively facilitate holiday program activities
Ability to take verbal and written directions and follow set policy and processes of the RSPCA Victoria
Ability to work independently within the program environment
A good attention to detail
RSPCA Volunteer experience
Training and support
On the job training will be provided.
